IREDES

IREDES (International Rock Excavation Data Exchange Standard) is a format commonly used by mining and drilling contractors. It enables two-way hole size reporting to the stakeholders.

The required hole size is transferred from the designer to the machine operator with a drill plan. The hole size is returned to the blasting work when the drilling work is done. Completed drilling holes are saved in IREDES Quality format in the Xsite Manage Cloud Service.

Supporting the IREDES format is a common and well-known customer requirement in the mining and drilling industry.

Xsite Manage API enhancements

The newest API releases for Xsite Manage cloud service are here. Useful enhancements made to mining-, drilling contractors and third-party applications.

subDRILL

Drill holes must be drilled a certain distance deeper than the desired floor level of the drill bench. It must be done to ensure the ability of excavation to the planned elevation. This additional drilling distance included in the drill hole total depth is called the “sub-drill” and the area of the sub-drill is called subgrade.

The drill hole diameter is equal to the drill bit outer diameter in use. Drill hole size is determined by the explosives in use and the drill plan based on the targeted production rate and quality demands.
